Jerod Hugghins is an industrial designer and mechanical engineer with interest and experience in a variety of design fields. With an eye for detail, he is passionate about creating new forms, patterns, connections, and mechanical movements in pursuit of a perfect design.
Jerod earned a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and after a period of designing technical oilfield products, he left his native Texas to enroll in the Masters of Industrial Design program at Pratt Intitute in Brooklyn, New York. His dream was to combine his love of creating art, of making models, of mechanics, of production methods, and of obsessively organizing his desk into a career of designing unique products. Since pursuing his dream, Jerod has designed sport watches, ergonomic footwear, bamboo kitchen ware, beverage packaging, and architectural hardware. In 2008, he was named a finalist in the Billes Products design competition in New Orleans for his design of a chess set. Jerod has also worked as a construction worker and an ice cream server.
Located in Brooklyn, Jerod works on a freelance basis both remotely and in-house. He offers product, packaging, and graphic design services, as well as 3D modeling, drafting, and production sourcing.
